Brigham City Library Objectives

  1. To provide free service to every resident in our community by obtaining the financing necessary to carry on a library program that would meet the American Library Association criteria for small libraries.
  2. To identify community needs and provide reliable information, recreational reading, viewing and listening for our community.
  3. To develop and maintain a strong public relations program.
  4. To support the Library Bill of Rights and the Freedom to Read statement of the American Library Association.
  5. To provide free public meeting rooms as defined in our policy statement.
  6. To encourage children in the development of an appreciation for books and reading as well as assisting in the development of library skills.
  7. To provide a basic research for the student population for Brigham City.
  8. To support the study of local history and people and serve as a repository for local culture and history.
  9. To encourage all segments of our community to have input into library operation.
  10. To provide adequate housing for the library collection.
