Stay-On-Track is a summer reading program for children, grades 1-3, to help them maintain and improve their reading skills during the summer. Volunteer tutors meet with students one-on-one at the Library to practice reading and phonics with games, activities, and stories.
Stay-On-Track volunteers meet with a student twice each week for 30 minutes June 8 - July 30. Volunteers arrange with students' families to find the times that work best. Schedules are flexible! We understand that volunteers may have vacations, commitments, etc. throughout the summer. All tutoring materials are provided by the Literacy Department.
Tutors must be at least 16 years old to apply.
* Or by arrangement with Literacy coordinator. Volunteers from past years and teachers may not need to attend a training.
