Meet six authors! Find out more about their books and writing lives and bring any questions you have for them on writing or their paths to publication.

Meet authors Steve Capone, Elizabeth Suggs (Elizabeth Suggs will no longer make it), Anna del C. Dye, Karl Beckstrand, Scott Bryan, and Johnny Worthen as they pitch their book in a fun "Speed Date with a Book" format. Q&A will follow the book pitches. (Learn more about each author below in our Author Bios and Websites section.)

 Book signing and book sales information: A book signing will follow this event. Each author at this event will handle their own book sales.

 Registration: Registration for this event is not required, however, if you register you will receive an event reminder via e-mail, and if you opt-in to a text message, also a text reminder.

Author Bios & Websites

Author: Steve Capone

Author Bio: A multi-genre, Utah-based writer hailing from the Rust Belt, Steve Capone Jr debuted his YA historical/espionage fiction novel Max in the Capital of Spies: A Max Fredericks Story in March 2024. In 2026, Gibbs Smith’s True Fiction Press will distribute Jimmy vs. Communism nationwide. You can find some of his short fiction in the We Are Dangerous anthology (2023). He's a pizza advocate, dog rescuer, and a proud member of the League of Utah Writers and the Horror Writers Association.

Author: Anna del C. Dye

Author Bio: Anna del C. Dye was born in Chile. She has received seven awards for her stories in different genres. She is fluent in Spanish & English. She lives in Utah, with her husband of forty plus years.
The Silent Warrior Trilogy belongs to her Elf Series that includes seven stand-alone high fantasy books. Anna's A Royal Romance series includes ten titles so far. She has also authored the novelettes The Chancellor from Connier, A Princess' Heartache, Fatal Snooze. A collection of Christmas tales based on the Depression era are part of her Other Santa seven books series. Number five will debut shortly. And last but not least, her middle-grade book, Emerine’s Nightmare and her bilingual collection of kid’s books, under A. C. Dye are also available.

Author: Karl Beckstrand

Author Bio: College media instructor Karl W. Beckstrand is the best-selling author/illustrator of twenty-seven multicultural/multilingual titles (60 ebooks—reviews by Publisher’s Weekly, Kirkus, The Horn Book, and School Library Journal). Raised in San Jose, California, he has lived abroad, earned a B.A. in journalism, an M.A. in international relations and conflict resolution, and a broadcast & film certificate. His western novel, To Swallow the Earth, won a 2016 International Book Award. Beckstrand loves volleyball and singing (in rock bands or choirs). Author: Scott Bryan

Author Bio: Scott Bryan is the author of the Foresight Chronicles series available on Amazon from Big World Network. Currently he’s spending a lot of time as the scribe for a three-hundred-year-old vampire child, sharing tales of her endless battles with Dracula across history. He also searches the Multiverse, looking for fascinating narratives to share with this world. He’s met lost fantasy creatures, demonic beings, time travelers and Multiversal agents, each of whom have offered him stories to tell.

Scott is the Volunteer Chair of the League of Utah Writers, as well as a member of the Infinite Monkey chapter of that group.

Author Bio: JOHNNY WORTHEN is an award-winning, multiple-genre, tie-dye-wearing author, voyager, and damn fine human being! Trained in stand-up comedy, literary criticism and cultural studies, he writes upmarket fiction, long and short, indie and traditional, mentors others where he can, and teaches creative writing at the University of Utah. He is a founding member of the Utah chapter of the HWA, a full member of SFWA, RMFW, Pikes Peak Writers, and a lifetime member of the League of Utah Writers. He gets around.
